愛知県警察は、ホームページ上に、「令和８年２月１８日発表」として、「恐喝未遂被疑者の逮捕【捜査第四課、岡崎・豊田・豊橋・安城・刈谷・西尾警察署】令和７年７月９日、安城市内の事務所で、露天商の営業に関するみかじめ料等の名目で、男性らから現金を脅し取ろうとしたとして、男６人（４９歳から８５歳）を逮捕しました」と発表しました（令和８年２月１８日、中日新聞は、インターネット上に、前田天（たかし）氏の実名を記載した記事を配信（報道）し、翌１９日、読売新聞・朝日新聞・中日新聞各朝刊にも実名を記載した記事が掲載（報道）されています。）。
しかしながら、上記警察発表は、不当逮捕による完全な誤発表であり、前田氏その他の被疑者計６人は、令和８年３月９日、起訴されることなく、全員釈放されています（刑事訴訟法２０８条）。
当職は、前田氏の弁護人には選任されていませんでしたが、その他の被疑者のうちの１人（以下「当職担当被疑者」といいます。）から弁護人に選任され、岡崎簡易裁判所（城殿潔その他の裁判官計３人）ないし名古屋地方裁判所岡崎支部（水野将徳その他の裁判官計５人）に対し、当職担当被疑者に犯罪の疑いがないことを主張立証（書面提出）しました。最終的に、名古屋地方検察庁岡崎支部（検察官太田賢）は、前記のとおり、前田氏その他の被疑者計６人全員について、起訴することなく釈放しています。
次回以降、前田氏（及び当職担当被疑者）に犯罪の疑いがないことの理由（事情）として、当職が令和８年３月９日までに把握したことを明らかにしていきます。

2026.4.9 Conflict with Aichi Prefectural Police ②
On February 18, 2026, the Aichi Prefectural Police announced on date of their official website—under the heading “Attempted Extortion Suspects Arrested [Fourth Investigation Sections of the Okazaki, Toyota, Toyohashi, Anjo, Kariya, and Nishio Police Stations]”—that six men (aged 49 to 85) had been arrested for allegedly attempting to extort money from several individuals at the Association’s office in Anjo City on July 9, 2025, under the pretext of mikajime‑ryo (protection money) purportedly related to street‑vendor operations.
However, the above police announcement was a completely erroneous statement resulting from an unjustified arrest. Mr. Maeda and the other five suspects were all released on March 9, 2026 without prosecution (non-indictment), in accordance with Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Although I was not appointed as Mr. Maeda’s defense counsel, I was appointed as counsel by one of the other suspects (hereinafter referred to as “the suspect under my charge”). And I submitted written arguments and evidence to the Okazaki Summary Court (to Judges Kiyoshi Kidono and two others) and to the Okazaki Branch of the Nagoya District Court (Judge Masanori Mizuno and four others), asserting that the suspect under my charge had no involvement in any criminal act. Ultimately, the Okazaki Branch of the Nagoya District Public Prosecutors Office (Prosecutor Ken Ota) released all six individuals—Mr. Maeda and the other suspects—without filing charges, as stated in Section 1 above.
